Q1 Is this a pyramid selling scheme or a party plan?
A. No! Because network marketing is a relatively new business model and little understood, it's sometimes mistaken for other practises.
In fact, network marketing is used to distribute products by companies such as Virgin, The Body Shop and Gillette. It is now taught in most major business schools and increasingly acknowledged as a viable and appealing way for people to transform their income levels and start their own business, without having to risk their job or make any large investment. The Forever Living products that Working Partners markets have been successfully distributed this way for more than 26 years.

Pyramid selling was outlawed in 1973 - a fact that hasn't deterred unscrupulous people from using it anyway. Telltale signs of a pyramid scheme include:
- the complete absence of any product
- there is a product but it gets passed from one person to the next without being consumed, and increases in price as it goes - it's typically sold in bulk
- you have to invest a large sum
- it's a new company, it keeps disappearing and re-emerging or it's not registered with the Direct Selling Association (DSA)
- only the people who are in at the beginning make any real money
- training is expensive
- you are promised a huge income in weeks
Party plans involve holding regular parties at your home and receiving a bonus based on the amount of product you sell at the event. In many cases these bonuses are only given if you hold a number of parties each week. If you work hard at it you can generate a second income but you'll never achieve the life changing levels of income that network marketing can deliver. Even if you stop working the business, network marketing income continues to roll in, while party plan income stops as soon as you do. [back to the top]
Q2 I'm after a senior management position - does it matter if I'm not interested in selling aloe vera?
A. The beauty of Working Partners and Forever Living Products is that you can target whatever level of the business you want. Some people enjoy distributing the products and just want to earn a little extra income. But for those who want to maximise the full business potential of FLP, we offer all the training and support you need to get to a management position within months. [back to the top]
Q3 Building successful businesses through Working Partners sounds too good to be true. What's the catch?
A. There really isn't any great mystery or small print. There are no financial risks or up-front investments. All we ask is that you use the products yourself for at least 60 days so that you can experience the benefits personally.
What you will need to do is invest some consistent time and follow the tried and tested approach that works for thousands of successful men and women in over 100 countries around the world. If you do, you will start to see your income build within months, while a three to five year investment can deliver real long-term financial security.
If there is a catch, it's that your level of success is entirely up to you. You'll receive the best coaching, training and support possible but you won't be pushed. You need to be serious about wanting to improve your quality of life and prepared to follow a tried and tested plan. In the end, it's up to you. [back to the top]
Q4 Why aren't Forever Living Products sold in the shops? Are they reputable and safe?
A. We use network marketing instead of traditional retail because it works better - for everyone. Almost 26 years of exponential growth has demonstrated this fact to FLP. For an independent view, consider the results of a report from Mintel, the leading market research company. They compared the performance of network marketing against retailing over a five- year period. During that time retail sales grew by 7%, while network marketing sales expanded by a massive 67%.
As to product quality, FLP owns everything from the fields where the aloe is grown free from pesticides and herbicides to the distribution network that delivers the product to customers, which means we can monitor quality every step of the way. We've operated a money back policy for 26 years and the business has done nothing but go from strength to strength, all built on word of mouth. In official terms, FLP products are endorsed by the International Aloe Science Council, have earned the Islamic seal of approval and are kosher rated. [back to the top]
Q5 Am I under any obligation if I ask for more information or decide to join the team?
A. No. To be frank, it's a complete waste of our time to persuade people who are not truly interested. We want to invest our time, training and support in people who genuinely want to make the most of a great business. What we're looking for are people who are:
- eager to make a change right now
- prepared to take action
- willing to learn and make an effort
- happy to judge the facts for themselves
- wanting to join an already successful team
Q6 Will I lose friends if I try selling products to them?
A. When you discover something wonderful, don't you naturally tell people you know, who may be interested too?
One of the keystones of the business is that you use the products yourself. Once you see how good they are you will naturally want to tell your friends and family about them, because you want them to benefit too. It feels more like sharing than selling!
If you feel uncomfortable about asking for money, it may help to know that every product comes with a 60-day, money-back guarantee. If your customers are disappointed in any way, they get their money back. Our $2 billion global business has been built on word of mouth and satisfied customers. [back to the top]
Q7 Where does the money come from - how are such enormous earnings possible?
A. It's really just a different way of cutting the cake. Traditionally, 80% of product price is swallowed by middlemen - wholesale, distribution, retail and advertising - while 20% is left for the manufacturer. By using network marketing to distribute Forever Living Products directly to customers, we cut most of the middlemen out. That way, 68% of the ticket price can be passed back to the distributors in the form of monthly bonuses, incentives and profit share, while FLP retains a healthy 32%. In other words, everyone is better off. [back to the top]
